Are there any cold medicines that are safe to take with Prozac?
ByI have a cold right now, but I’m also on Prozac, so unfortunately, there are some medicines I can’t take. Yesterday I called a drug store to ask if it was safe for me to take DayQuil or NyQuil, and they told me they weren’t sure, but it might not be, since both of those medicines have alcohol. Does anyone here know of any cold medicines that are safe to take with Prozac? I need help fast, because my sinuses are killing me!

Tylenol cold and sinus is usually pretty safe to take with just about anything.
However, I would call your Dr’s office and ask them to be sure.

At best, most over-the-counter cold “medications” have merely a placebo effect. Still, it’s unlikely that even taking cold & cough syrups will pose much risk, since they have very little alcohol content.
For your sinuses, use nasal spray to relieve some of the pressure since it goes directly to the source instead of travelling through your bloodstream. What I like to do when I’m congested is to set my nose over a boiling pot of water to get the heat & water vapor through the nasal pa*sages. Dryness is one of the main culprits for clogged sinuses.
