Getting A Course Of Tamiflu Delivered, How Long Will It Last For And How Long Will The Recovery Period Be?
ByAny idea how long I will have to take the course of medication for?
I work in a nursery and have been told to stay off work, I haven’t notified them yet but I have a holiday booked next week, not going abroad or anything, just to my mother in laws. But I don’t want work to think I’m lying about it or whatever to get an extra week off, but I know I cannot go to the doctors for a sick note, any advice? :\

I hate to break it to you…but you just wasted a lot of money on the Tamiflu (it is usually pretty pricey even with your insurance…$30-$50). That drug is just a waste!!! First off, if you have the flu…there is NO treatment cause the flu is caused by a virus (antibiotics only work on bacterial infections…which is not a virus). So basically, the only solution is just to let your body fight off the infection on its own.
Plus Tamiflu ONLY works if you take it within 72 hour of being sick (which I would like to point out that most people do not even know they are sick the first day or so). And even if you do take it, it MAY only help by decreasing your symptoms by ONE DAY ( I would like to point out again…that is MAY help by only one day).
Just give your work a doctor’s note and that should be fine because you can’t be sick at work. Feel better soon! Lots of water!

Are you taking it to treat the flu? If so, you take it for 5 days.
Are you taking it to prevent the flu? If so, you take it for 10 days.
Also, if you’re taking it to actually treat the flu, you really should notify the nursery. If you’re in contact with children, you’re putting them at risk, no matter what infection you have, of contracting something. Caring for their well-being also means protecting them from sickness, whether that’s from something else or yourself.
Beyond serious side effects, some typical side effects are nausea and vomiting, so that might be a concern while you’re on Tamiflu.
