Possible infection from scrape?
Posted by: | Commentslast saturday my husband and daughters and i were walking down a trail to a beach. my knee gave out and needless to say i hit the ground. i scraped up my knee pretty bad and my shin and foot. my shin and foot have healed fine. we were unable to completely clean my knee at the time because we were an hour away from home and i didn’t have a first aid kit nearby. so we improvised and poured sea water on it and i cleaned what dirt i could out of it. yesterday i noticed that it was red and pretty warm so i had my hubby look at it and he said it looked alittle infected, so he went back in and deep cleaned it with alcohol (for as bad as that hurt it better have done some good!). so we’ve been putting alcohol on it 2 a day. today, its nowhere near as red, but its still pretty warm, and its alittle swollen, not bad…but enough for me to notice. it hurts alittle but not much. what is the possibility of infection? and what can i do to clear this up without having to visit a doctor?? thanks guys
Can gum infection cause throat infection?
Posted by: | CommentsMy wisdom tooth is inclined and causes swelling of the tooth just below it in the lower jaw and also causes cheek byte. Now I have a constant pain in my neck below that lower tooth. Are these 2 problems interrelated?
What can I do for a yeast infection til I can get meds tomorrow?

Are certain types of condoms more likely to cause a bladder infection?
Posted by: | CommentsMy girlfriend has gotten three in the last month and a half – all have been fairly mild, but she is of course frustrated. We have since lowered the frequency of our intercourse (we are a fairly new couple, so it has been rather intense) and so far she has not had one. Still, after each time we have intercourse, I am paranoid about her getting an infection again (they have always become apparent the next morning). I use Trojan brand condoms with a spermicide – is there any relation between her bladder infections and the type of condom I am using? She is getting more vitamin C and drinking more fluids, but I still worry. I would like to enjoy sex as frequently as we like and without this paranoia about her getting another infection.
I’m 90% sure i have a respiratory infection, yet i can not go see a doctor for a couple of days, i dont want to get into it. is there anything i can do to help this infection? im keeping myself hydrated, resting, drinking lots of tea already. what else?
Will Clindamycin help get rid of a respiratory infection?
Posted by: | CommentsI was given it for sinus infection in which I had tiny polyps and some pus, and was wondering if also it would help an infection in my lungs, I have had this for quite a while. I was on biaxin and it helped so much then the breathing difficulties came back, will the clindamycin help with breathing issues in my lungs?
Asthma and Sinus Infection?
Posted by: | CommentsI have had a bad sinus infection for the last 5 days. I also have pretty significant asthma. I started wheezing today and the infection seems to have moved into my lungs. I am in the high yellow zone of my breathing meter, so I nebulized. Now I have the jitters and can’t sleep. Can I take some kind of over the counter cold medicine like Nyquil or is this just too much medicine on top of the abuterohl and the Advair, etc.? I need to get some rest. Help? Tomorrow I will go to the doctor and get help—but I need something to help me tonight.
My friend just went to the ER. She has been sick for the past few days with a sore throat and an ear infection in both ears she has been light headed, vomiting and now spitting up blood. How serious is this? Will she will be ok.
I have tried to cut it open to check for a tick head but I can’t. The nodule is hard and everytime she scratches, she catches it and busts it open. It has a dark spot around the middle of the infection and is not getting any smaller or bigger. It is the size of a quarter. I have been cleaning daily with soap and water and pouring rubbing alcohol over it and putting a bandage with neosporin on it and it is not doing any good.
i need advice on how to cope with the pain, i need fluids but i cant swallow and i havnt eaten in two days…..the doc gave me meds but thaey arent working:( any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks
