36 weeks 5 days pregnant. Are my doctors reading my blood pressure wrong?
Posted by: | CommentsAt 20 weeks, I went to my appt and my BP was through the roof! Had to do a 24hr urine and have been on BP meds twice a day since. Starting around 30 weeks I began going to the doctor once a week for a Nonstress Test (my BP still a little high around that time). At 34 weeks I began going TWICE a week to get a Nonstress Test early in the week and a Biophysical Profile (BPP) later in the week. Everytime I go for the Nonstress Test, my BP is ALWAYS up a little. Yesterday it was something over 110…but ended up coming down to 150/80. The nurse practitioner still sent me to the hospital to be monitored and to do another 24hr urine test. The whole time my BP was around 130/80. I was finally sent home after 6 hours with everything looking fine. My BP was NEVER up on their monitor.
So my question is—–Could the nurses at the dr’s office be reading my BP wrong since they do it manually?? Or could the digital automatic kind at the hospital be off some?
I’m just sick of being sent to the hospital or for a BPP and nothing being wrong. You’d think they’d do their best to keep my BP normal instead of getting me all worked up after having to wait for HOURS at the hospital and being uncomfortable and miserable!
Why would my husband, who is on blood pressure meds, heart rate be low?
Posted by: | CommentsMy husband has high b/p. This past Fathers Day, he had an episode of nausea, hot flashes and severe weakness with a low heart rate, no b/p problem. He got better, the weakness came back at work & they took him to the ER and he was transferred to another hospital to see a cardiologist, while in the hospital, they took him off of the b/p med & monitored his heart rate for 3 days, it improved without the b/p med he was taking, they had mentioned a pacemaker but put that on hold. We came home, heart rate continued to improve, no weakness for 2 days. The second day we were back home, he had to start taking the new b/p med Lisinopril, 5mg, that the cardiologist gave him, the very next afternoon, the nurse at his work had to bring him home because of weakness again and is heart rate is beginning to drop again also, but this heart doc said this medicine will not make heart rate drop. This happens when taking b/p meds & I am not convinced that is not the cause, they’re talking pacemaker again
Does phenylalanine cause high blood pressure?
Posted by: | CommentsPhenylalanine is in some foods and almost all sodas.I read on some websites that it DOES cause high blood pressure.I haven’t found information on phenylalanine so anything you might know about it causing high blood pressure please tell me.Any websites that say anything would help too.Thanks!!!p.s. I know there is a presciption drug called phenylalanine and that is not what I want information on.
I’m tired of these pharmaceuticals. Can anyone direct me toward a RELIABLE and SAFE natural, holistic way to manage my blood pressure? It’s not crazy high, but due to other conditions I must keep it low.
